ECU of two batteries, the camera pulls back to see that they are stuck up a Santisima Trinidad's nose. There is blood running from both nostrils. She is apparently dead. (ELECTRONIC NOISES PLAY ON SOUNDTRACK). INTERCUT with CREDITS

SCENE TWO - INT DAY - BEDROOM
ECU of mouth, SANTISIMA TRINIDAD is speaking to somebody on a mobile phone.

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                       They are in the batteries, I'm telling you, that's how they are
                       getting in our minds and controlling us. (PAUSE) Hello, hello.

CU eyeball (ELECTRICITY/BUZZING SOUND ON SOUNDTRACK)

CU phone, it starts ringing (AMPLIFIED SOUND ON SOUNDTRACK)

Phone going up to ear (from POV of phone) (SCREECHING TO SILENCE as phone reaches ear)

                        Hello

                        What do you mean you know where I live, I haven't told...

                        ...you where I live.

Phone falling to floor and falling apart to reveal battery (EXPLOSION SOUND ON SOUNDTRACK)

                        Oh shit (said slowly and quietly)

scene three int day - stairway
Feet running down stairs (FAST MUSIC ON SOUNDTRACK diminishes as feet reach bottom)

Title Card: A Short Drive Later (SOUND OF CAR ON SOUNTRACK)

scene four - INT day - another stairway
Feet running up stairs (FAST MUSIC ON SOUNDTRACK escalates as she reaches top, then stops suddenly as she rings bell on door.

POV shot of door opening

scene five - int day - another bedroom
Another door, it opens and a voice shouts, "enter"

CUT TO
The room is semi-dark; a figure is lying on an unmade bed looking away from SANTISIMA TRINIDAD. He is TITUS BRAMBLE. The room is littered with remote controls etc with the batteries removed.

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        Why have you come here? You know they will come
                        after you here. You have ruined everything.
He turns to face her

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        But I need your help

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        It's too late for that, face the inevitable

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        But we need to tell people about the batteries

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        And what do we say? That forces beyond our comprehension
                        can manipulate the human mind through the common battery.
                        Nobody will believe us, nobody. We'll sound like Oliver Stone's
                        drinking buddies.

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        We have to try.

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        What do you suggest we do?

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        Fight back
 
 

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        With what? They have all the resources and we have none.
                        Except maybe... nah forget it.

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        What? Tell me, what? Even if it's only a slim chance,
                        we have to take it.

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        No. Not we. You

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        I'll do it.

SCENE SIX - INT - ANOTHER STAIRWAY
Feet slowly walking up the stairs (NOISE OR MUSIC HERE STARTS QUIETLY AND BUILDS UNTIL FIGURE KNOCKS ON DOOR)

SCENE SEVEN - INT - ANOTHER BEDROOM
CU of ear (as it registers sound of footsteps) CAMERA PULLS OUT FROM EAR AND DOLLIES ROUND TO FACE

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        You expecting... WHIP PAN (WHOOSH ON SOUNDTRACK)
 
 

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        Did it look like I was expecting guests?

SCENE EIGHT - INT - Another Stairway
Feet slowly walking up stairs. (SLOW OMINOUS MUSIC STARTS HERE AND BUILDS UNTIL THEY KNOCK ON DOOR)
CUT TO
SCENE NINE - INT - another bedrooom
Titus Bramble reaches under the bed and brings out a bundle.

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        You said you wanted to fight, now's your chance.

He hands the bundle to SANTISIMA TRINIDAD.

scene ten - int - another stairway
Feet coming up stairs

CUT TO
scene eleven - int - another bedroom
She unwraps the bundle to reveal two hand guns.

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        They are already loaded.

CUT TO
scene twelve - int - another stairway
Two figures standing in front of the door. One of them knocks on the door.

Door opening

CUT TO
scene thirteen - int - hallway
POV shot of bullets flying towards baddies. One of them is hit and falls to the ground. The other one hides and shoots indiscriminately in to the room. SANTISIMA TRINIDAD dives for cover and shoots back. The baddie gets a bit too ballsy and gets hit several times. He falls to the ground.

CUT TO
Santisima Trinidad standing guns in hands still pointing at door. She is looking at the bodies lying on the ground.

TITUS BRAMBLE (OC)

                        We better get out of here, before the police arrive.

Santisima Trinidad nods vacantly, still looking at the bodies that she has created.

scene fourteen - int - another stairway
Feet running down stairs (FAST MUSIC ON SOUNDTRACK diminishes as they reach bottom)

scene fifteen - ext - street
CAMERA SWOOPS ALONG AND UP AND STOPS ON CU OF THE MOUTH OF ALEJANDRO SEVERO

ALEJANDRO SEVERO

                        Come with me if you want to live.

TITLE CARD A car chase later (SOUNDS OF CARS SKIDDING + GUNS FIRING ETC)

scene sixteen - ext - wherever
TITUS BRAMBLE, SANTISIMA TRINIDAD and ALEJANDRO SEVERO standing in disused factory/warehouse (or woods)

ALEJANDRO SEVERO

                        We’ve been watching you for sometime now
SANTISIMA TRINIDAD
                        Oh yeah, what are you some kind of peeping tom or something.
 
 

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        These were the people I was going to take you to. They maybe
                        able to help
ALEJANDRO SEVERO
                        You're pretty cool for someone who has just shot two government agents.
SANTISIMA TRINIDAD
                        Hey they were trying to kill me!

ALEJANDRO SEVERO

                        Well that's what we were expecting. I’m a member of a
                        group called Brothers against Batteries, or BABS for short.
SANTISIMA TRINIDAD
                        Oh great, I’m hanging around with somebody called Babs,
                        who’s your best pal, Mags?
TITUS BRAMBLE (INTERRUPTING SANTISIMA)
                        Why didn’t you pick us up sooner?
ALEJANDRO SEVERO
                        We had to be sure that you were genuine. Now, before it’s
                        too late, it’s time for your immunization
 
 

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD + TITUS BRAMBLE

                        Immunization against what?
ALEJANDRO SEVERO
                        Against the battery power

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        And in what form does this immunization take.
ALEJANDRO SEVERO
                        Well, that’s the problem, it involves the placing of
                        batteries up your nose, one in each nostril. It doesn’t hurt,
                        it’s slightly uncomfortable to begin with and there is some
                        bleeding afterwards.
SANTISIMA TRINIDAD
                        Oh is that all.
ALEJANDRO SEVERO
                        OK lets do it.

He hands two batteries to each of them
 

CUT TO
CU of batteries going up nose. (SQUELCHING NOISES ON SOUNDTRACK) IMAGE GOES TO NEGATIVE

CUT TO
ECU of two batteries, the camera pulls back to see that they are stuck up a young Santisima Trinidad's nose. There is blood running from both nostrils. She is apparently dead. (ELECTRONIC NOISES PLAY ON SOUNDTRACK) Suddenly she leaps up and screams. She pulls the blood-covered batteries from her nose and throws them away.
 
 

TITUS BRAMBLE

                        Are you OK?
 
 

SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

                        Yeah just a little fuzzy.
ALEJANDRO SEVERO
                        Right it’s time to go, they’ll have tracked us down by now.
                        There’s a helicopter waiting to take us to our main headquarters.
TITUS BRAMBLE
                        What happens when we get there?

                        She’ll be trained to defeat the people who control the batteries.
SANTISIMA TRINIDAD
                        And how are you gonna do that?

ALEJANDRO SEVERO

                        Don’t worry, the brothers gonna work it out.
